I love all aspects of the job especially helping the children learn and grow as individuals. I live in Cheddar with my husband and 3-year-old son and enjoy spending my spare time with family and friends.
Casey is our new key worker.
My name is Ellen Ayers and I am the administrator for the Playgroup. I have been working with the playgroup for 2 years and I am also an active committee member. My son started at the playgroup when he was 2 and loved it but so did I. I was totally inspired by Louise Wright a previous Chair and Carry Walker who is now our Treasurer, everyone worked so hard to make the charity led playgroup run as smoothly as it does. I joined the committee and hoped I could help too. I then became a staff member not long after I had my second baby, often working with her in a papoose or pushchair!
Now she’s 2 she also loves playgroup and my son started Stoberry Park School last September. My fellow colleagues are wonderful and create such an amazing learning environment for the children you can’t help but want to be part of it all too!
Stepping Stones Playgroup is run by a voluntary Committee of parents and carers.
Being a member of the Playgroup Committee is a very worthwhile experience, giving you as parent/carer a greater involvement in the vitally important early stages of your child/children’s education. If you think you may like to join the Committee at any stage in the year, please contact a Committee member.
Our Annual General Meeting is held in the Autumn Term and this is when the Committee for the following year is selected. Parent/carers will be informed in good time when this is going to take place, so that they are able to attend.
The Committee is responsible for setting up the Playgroups policies, managing and engaging staff, fundraising and organising social events. The Committee is not responsible for day – to – day operations. That responsibility lies with the Carly and the staff. The Committee try to meet once every half term, in the evening, usually from 8pm onwards. The committee is governed by the Constitution with the support of the Pre-School Learning Alliance
The way we run the Playgroup is governed by our Policies and Procedures and Constitution, which are all reviewed annually with regard to Ofsted recommendations and with the help from the Pre-School Learning Alliance (PLA).
A list of current Committee members can be found below, and in playgroup. Please feel free to contact any Committee member directly if you have any questions about the Playgroup. ***As a committee we value the all support that parents and carers are able to offer, and have several events throughout the year to raise funds for the playgroup, this is only possible with the time and energy that parents can provide. If you feel that you can help in anyway, by cooking, selling, or with an idea for an event, then please just contact one of the committee.** We look forward to hearing from you, Stepping Stones Committee
